Yeah, that’s what we thought! If you are like most carafem clients (and, really just all people in general!), you live a busy life. Maybe you’re juggling school, a social life, and a job. Or family, a career, and hobbies. Or all of the above! That’s why most carafem appointments last about an hour or less. And that hour is spent one-on-one with a single provider who will listen to all of your concerns, answer all of your questions, and give you all of the attention you need.
Even when you’re super-busy, stuff happens. Maybe you need an abortion. Or you need to get tested for an STI, or change your birth control method.
Here’s the good news: most carafem appointments are over in an hour or less.
That’s right! From the time they enter the reception area to the time they leave, most carafem clients are in our office for less than an hour. That means you can schedule your carafem appointment into your busy life.
How long is each kind of appointment?
If you’re visiting us to be prescribed a new form of birth control or to be tested for an STI, your appointment will probably be about half an hour. You’ll talk with one of our experienced, compassionate medical professionals, get the services you need, and be on your way.
An in-office procedure (safe, effective abortion) takes just a little over an hour, including talking with a medical professional and aftercare (the actual procedure only takes a few minutes).
If you’re seeing us for a medical abortion, you may take the first set of pills in our office, and that appointment can take under an hour. You’ll take the second set in the privacy of your own home, on your own time (within 72 hours), and we will be on-call to answer any questions you have.

We offer quick and convenient appointments because we respect your time. But we always have time for you.
