Annual report 2026: Expanding accessible care with new services in more states

Article / June 24, 2026
A promotional graphic for carafem’s 2026 Annual Report. The image features a dark plum background with pink, coral, and white geometric shapes across the top. On the left, a mockup of the annual report cover displays a photo of two people and the title “Annual Report 2026.” On the right, the carafem logo appears above the text “Annual report 2026” and the subtitle “Expanding accessible care with new services in more states.” The design uses carafem’s brand colors and modern geometric elements.

In 2025, carafem responded to abortion restrictions, shifting laws, and rapidly changing online search tools with innovation and resilience.

When carafem set out to raise the standard of abortion and reproductive healthcare in the United States more than a decade ago, we were determined to increase access, affordability, and quality for people seeking care.

Since then, more than 150,000 people have trusted carafem with their care, resulting in over 200,000 visits across our health centers and telehealth services. We never take that trust for granted. Every person who comes to us deserves dignity, respect, and personalized support— and that commitment continues to guide everything we do.

Fulfilling that promise means navigating abortion restrictions, shifting state laws, and rapidly changing online search tools while continuing to meet people where they are. We respond to each challenge with innovation and resilience. Our flexible, client-centered model designed around individual preferences and needs has helped redefine what best-in-class abortion and reproductive healthcare can look like in the United States.

Our 2025 Highlights

  • We introduced three new services—abortion pills for future use, missed period pills, and post-abortion follow-up care for anyone—to better support people navigating uncertainty and changing legal realities.

  • We helped 60% of clients receive financially-supported care through sliding-scale fees, expanded insurance and Medicaid access, and partnerships with abortion funds— because high-quality abortion care should be accessible in practice, not just in principle.

  • We used data-driven strategies to ensure that people searching for abortion care and support could still find carafem as major Google algorithm changes and AI-driven search reshaped how people find healthcare information online.

  • We expanded our 24/7 medically-supported telehealth abortion care to Washington, Oregon, and Ohio, reaching more people with limited local options for care.

Yes, You Deserve Great Abortion Care

We remain steadfast in our belief that every person deserves great medical care that treats them with dignity and respect. Our health centers are designed to feel calm, private, and welcoming. Our telehealth care includes around-the-clock medical support and comfort kits that make care easier and less isolating. And we use the word “abortion” clearly and without euphemism, because abortion is healthcare. Period.
